Spring Break

Spring Break 1998: 5'9 and 130 pounds (figured if I could gain some weight and get in shape I'd be unstoppable as an actor and getting beautiful girls) Went to Ft Lauderdale with my two best friends at the time Ryan Williams and Attila Kirjak. Spent the week drunk, on the beach, at bars at night, probably had enormous amounts of illegal substances in me and the week was a haze. At this time I was making my initial plans to move to NYC with my enormous amount of acting and music talent I acquired in school. I would be on Broadway or a tv show by this time next year. My biggest concerns included where to get drunk and how to not get arrested. All of my friends were going through boyfriends and girlfriends like toilet paper. We all had dreams of making it big and being successful. I was invincible.

Spring Break 2012: 5'9 and 177 pounds (pretty content with how I look because I have my health, well at least most of it). Went to Gainesville to spend the week with my girlfriend who is my best friend. In the past 14 years, I've had the chance to hang out and see Ryan and Attila twice when I was on tour through Ft Collins, Colorado. Spent this week reading books, scripts, learning more about marketing, watching movies I needed to catch up on, going to the gym and spending extra time strengthening my knee because it has been giving me problems and stretching my back because it has been giving me problems, going to rehearsal with Katie and spending the entire time studying whats going on onstage and figuring out what I'd do if I was in the show or directing it, memorized my one man show that I have premiering in May and starting the brainstorming process for a new script I want to start working on. I was making continuing plans to move to Jacksonville, Fl with my enormous amount of mediocre acting talent. I have no clue where I acquired it from. My biggest concerns were figuring out what was wrong with my car and how I am going to pay for it, figuring out where I'm going to live and how I'm going to pay for it, producing my show and how I'm going to pay for it, looking into my savings account and how to add money into it, watching political figures tell me how bleak the future is and how much gas prices are going to rise and how I'm going to pay for it. All of my friends are going through separations, divorces, marriages, and three of my friends welcomed new babies this week. I was able to write to numerous friends this week and congratulate them on their new Broadway gigs, tours, and tv shows.
I talked to a few friends my age this week and told them my plan to go back in time and beat the shit out of 22 year old Jason and tell him to wake up and be better prepared for the future. I thought I was being over dramatic but my friends said they were one step ahead of me and already planned on going back and kicking the shit out of their younger selves and give them a list of everything that would make the rest of their 20's easier. The top of all their lists: use that time to be the best actors, musicians, creators, and fine tuning their talent.
I can't wait till 50 year old Jason comes back and kicks the crap out of me now.
... and now, going to a wet t-shirt contest. please please please let me win!!!
